you're looking for punk, ska, or hardcore, Club 513 will suit your needs. Typical of punk venues, Club 513 is short on standing room and decor, but not on entertainment and people watching. It's a good idea to call ahead as the club is only open on the nights of scheduled performances.

An upscale bar in an upscale neighborhood, The Roxy Theatre books a variety of acts from folk legends to ska to hip-hop. The entire club is decked out in rock and roll memoribilia which, though not unique, is certainly non-threatening. Seating can be sparse since most of the ground floor is devoted to the dance floor.

Star Community Bar
Rockabilly, Folk Rock, and Hard Country represents the genres of many of the acts at the Star Community Bar. The club is in a former bank that has had the old vault converted into a shrine to Elvis. Socializing isn't easy in the usual din, so come for the music, not the conversation.

American Pie
American Pie is a large sports bar and restaurant that features a 3500 sq. foot deck festooned with tropical plants and festive decor. When a football or baseball game isn't dominating the scene, DJs and party bands provide music for dancing on the deck. It's a tame party atmosphere since American Pie also considers itself to be a family restaurant.
